The Pembroke Pines Optimist Club joined the American Youth Football League in 1997.   In 2008 PPO is proud to say we rank #1 in the AYFL Power Ranking and will continue to bring the highest level in youth football competition to the City of Pembroke Pines.   Since 2003, PPO has had over 425 park wins, seventeen Super Bowl teams, three Orange Bowl Youth Football League teams (2004), and in 2007 our 135lb team won the state tournament for the FLYAA.  Also, in 2004 PPO set an AYFL record 74 wins and had three teams ranked in the top ten out of 400+ teams in the Orange Bowl Youth Football League. Today, PPO has surpassed the 74 wins, with an AYFL record 80 wins and counting.  PPO has turned their program into a youth football program respected and feared throughout South Florida.
